Season’s Greetings! For many people, the next few weeks are going to be very busy ones, what with all of the seasonal events and activities to keep up with. Our feline pals also have a few traditions! In this article, a local Bellevue, WA vet lists a few things on your kitty’s seasonal agenda.
Help With Gift Wrapping
Our furry friends are very grateful for the love and care we give them, and they often try to show it by offering their assistance. Fluffy may thoughtfully try to lend a helping paw with gift wrapping, cooking, and, of course, putting the tree up. (She may also help take the tree down, though maybe not in the way you would want.)
Stealing Boxes
No one is quite sure why kitties love boxes so much, but they just can’t resist empty ones. Offer your playful pet a few boxes to look adorable in. If you want, you can even make her a little cat condo out of one. Cover it with wrapping paper, and it can be part of your décor!
Enjoy Some Catnip
Don’t forget to put a few things under the tree for your cat! Toys, treats, and catnip all make purrfect kitty gifts. Plus, you can snap some super cute photos of your pet playing with her new things.
Have Some Special Treats
Food is front and center with many holiday traditions. Fluffy would be more than happy to help you celebrate! Just take care to stick with safe, suitable treats. Plain, cooked meat, fish, or poultry is always a good bet. Just take care not to offer her anything unsafe. Ask your vet for more information.
Attack The Tree
Kitties are very playful, so you kind of have to expect some mischief when a tree hung with what appear to be cat toys pops up in Fluffy’s domain. Keep the majority of the decorations, including anything small, sharp, or dangerous, on the top part of the tree. Put just a few dull, unbreakable ornaments on the lower branches.
Nap
No matter what time of year it is, Fluffy will still manage to fit in those 21 daily naps. Don’t be surprised if you find your pet snoozing under the tree. This makes purrfect sense: after all, kitties are precious gifts!
